Motivation to Exercise?
It’s January, so in most places around this country (and no doubt other countries) there is an increased number of joggers, runners, cyclists etc out and about, gyms and yoga classes are fuller than they usually are and many people doing these or similar activities are determined to start the New Year by getting their physical bodies in better shape…
For others, it’s not so easy to get started, and for a large amount of people it’s actually quite challenging to keep up the motivation for more than the first couple of weeks of January. Gyms do more of their business for new sign-ups in January and a shocking amount of those subscriptions fall idle within the first weeks of the year.
To help with your motivation to exercise, I have created a Hypnosis mp3 which is designed to help you to help yourself to be more motivated, either to start doing physical exercise or to increase the level of exercise that you are currently doing.
First it is wise to reflect on why you are actually choosing to do exercise i.e. what your motivation is. For when we are clear on our motivation and keep our goal in mind (rather than the sometimes challenging activity we are trying to do) then it helps to move us in the right direction. Assuming you don’t already have something specific in mind, then there are many possible reasons that you could reflect upon.
Exercise can certainly help you to control your weight, and it is definitely known to be extremely beneficial for your physical health. According to statistics, it is medically proven that people who do regular physical activity have:
- up to a 35% lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke
- up to a 50% lower risk of type 2 diabetes
- up to a 50% lower risk of colon cancer
- up to a 20% lower risk of breast cancer
- up to an 83% lower risk of osteoarthritis
Add to that that it’s also known to be beneficial to your mood and mental health, as physical exercise will release chemical into the bloodstream leaving you feeling better physically and emotionally and in a better frame of mind. According to statistics again, that means up to a 30% lower risk of depression, and up to a 30% lower risk of dementia.
And furthermore, it’s likely to leave you feeling happier and more relaxed, but you may also feel better about your appearance and yourself in general when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.
If you are motivated by one or more of the reasons above or any others and are looking for a little extra help and/or
