Life Between Lives – The Space Between Incarnations
What happens in the quiet space between our lifetimes? What does the soul experience when it returns home, no longer bound by body or time?
Many of you often explore past lives — to find out about the people we’ve been, the stories we’ve lived, the cultures we have embraced and more frequently for the healing that unfolds through remembering, and then the healing follows through transforming those past lives. Yet there is a gentle, mysterious space in between those lifetimes that’s just as significant. It’s sometimes called the interlife or the “life between lives,” and it’s where the soul rests, reflects, reconnects and prepares.
Through regression journeys and soul memories, people have glimpsed this luminous space — not as a dream or fantasy, but as something deeply familiar. It isn’t empty. It is alive with meaning.
The Return Home
For many, the moment of crossing from the physical into the soul state is described as peaceful and even joyful. There may be a sense of lifting, a movement through light, and a beautiful feeling of coming home.
Some speak of meeting guides — wise, loving beings who support us in our soul journey. Others describe reunions with soul family — those familiar spirits we incarnate with time and again in different roles. These reunions are often filled with deep recognition and love, a reminder that none of us are ever truly alone.
This space beyond life is not a place of judgement. It is a return to truth, clarity, and the deeper rhythm of the soul.
The Soul’s Review
One of the most commonly reported experiences in the interlife is a soul review — this is not a harsh judgement or test; instead a compassionate reflection.
With loving guidance, the soul revisits key moments of the life just lived. We may be shown how our choices, words and energy affected not only ourselves, but others present in our lives too. Often this is accompanied by a profound understanding of how everything is connected — and how even pain and challenge can be meaningful from the perspective of the soul.
There’s no punishment here. No shame. Just truth, love, and learning. It’s a reminder that our souls are always evolving, and each life offers opportunities for growth, even if they’re not always obvious while we’re in them.
Planning the Next Step
After a time of rest and reflection, many souls begin to look towards the future — the next incarnation.
This is where choices may be made: where, when and how the soul will return. Families may be selected. Key relationships agreed upon. Challenges chosen, not as punishment, but as lessons for growth and healing.
These decisions are rarely made alone. Souls often collaborate — agreeing to meet again in new forms and new stories. From our human perspective, this can be hard to grasp, especially when painful experiences are involved. Yet on the soul level, there’s a wider view — one rooted in love, courage and shared evolution.
Some souls return quickly. Others wait. There’s no fixed timeline — only what feels right for that soul’s journey.
A Subtle Mystery
The life between lives is not something we can fully explain with words. It’s a felt experience — a soul memory that sometimes bubbles to the surface in dreams, deep meditation, or most profoundly regression work.
Even catching glimpses of this space can bring peace. It reminds us that life continues, that we are so much more than this one name or face. We are souls — eternal, connected, growing — and our journey is lovingly held, both in this life and the space beyond it.
