Sounds True ?
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

Sounds True ?Sound is one of the most powerful realities in our life. It can shape how we start our day or even our entire day. It is well known that people feel differently and act differently depending on the sounds or noises that are present in a space. Perhaps the sounds of birdsong gently wakes you up each morning, or maybe it’s the roar and rumble of traffic or noisy neighbours that forces you from your slumber. Certain types of music may calm you, others may motivate you and others may simply make you feel uncomfortable. Most of us get acclimatized to sounds that we do not particularly enjoy, like transport noise or noisy neighbours, however that doesn’t mean that it stops vibrating completely in our consciousness. Even the sound of our own inner voice, perhaps our inner critic or saboteur, can also be a potent force to be reckoned with. Sounds may not disturb us consciously, but often they have penetrated far enough into our consciousness to raise our stress or anxiety levels, or reinforce our limitations without us realizing it. The reality is that sound has an effect on the human nervous system, and that impacts our day-to-day existence. Of course, though, and much more importantly anything which has the potential to harm us also has the potential to heal us and that’s where sound is heading today. Increasing amounts of research studies into sound and its healing potential reveal that various forms of sound promote harmony and balance within the human energy system. Whether it’s brainwave entrainment using technologies like holosync or neuro-acoustics, spoken voice using hypnosis or singing, or instruments like crystal bowls, tuning forks or gongs, then more and more stories are starting to emanate from practitioners about the positive effects of sound. Whilst the research (and result) is still in its infancy, in the past few years music and sound in its various possibilities has been documented as having the potential to help with recovery from surgery and strokes, dis-eases like Parkinsons, Alzheimers, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, dementia, cancer and many more if you care to look for them on the internet. Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, director of Medical Oncology and Integrative Medicine at the Cornell Cancer Prevention Center in NY has been using sound, including Tibetan Bowls, Crystal bowls and chanting in work with cancer patients for many years, and he says… “If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being. Then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning. It can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.” Sound and the intention behind a particular sound are a potent force to be reckoned with, and as the “Sleeping Prophet” Edgar Cayce one said, “Sound is the Medicine of the Future” Remember that at its core a little sound healing is simple. In fact, the words that you say to yourself on a daily basis are perhaps the most empowering (or limiting) technique that you have available to you today, and how you observe and change those words for the better (or not) is an important part of your journey. That is why many more people are embracing the benefits of hypnosis and self-hypnosis to change their inner talk for the better. The benefits of sound healing stretch to much more than serious illness. Many who come to my Crystal Sound Evenings frequently report relaxing and healing benefits, emotional release, letting go of limitations, feelings of peace and serenity and a general sense that their system has in some way come back into harmony, or homeostasis. As well as continuing with crystal bowl sounds evenings, 1-2-1 crystal bowl and gong sessions, I will also be involved in a series of sound workshops in Aylesbury during May and June, and in Chalfont St Giles from the Autumn onwards. “Re-Sounding You” happens on 5 Thursday evenings during May and June and myself andChrissie Martin will be helping you to empower and re-sound yourself using guided meditations, as well as voice and sound healing instruments as we guide you through both the five elements and the seven chakras to assist you in enhancing and enlivening the energies that the elements and chakras hold within you. You can find out more about that and book your place here The Cara Sound Healing Practitioner Training course starts in the Autumn of this year, and will be a fully accredited training course running over 4 x 3 modules plus online modules.
