The article that follows is about eating choices, however when you read it you may find that the basic theory behind applies to a different area of your life. That’s ok, the same principles apply. Read on and enjoy….

Got the theory…yet feel more challenged to walk the talk?

Do you know what you should be both buying and eating when it comes to food…? And then find that does not up end up translating into what actually gets into your shopping basket?…and then into your stomach?

And then wonder if you are you getting enough of what makes your body truly happy, healthy and harmonised?

And with a much higher level of food awareness these days, you might even be wondering if your life would be even be better if you put the “right” type of fuel into your vehicle.

Most people know reasonably well what works for them in terms of their food and drink consumption, either from practical knowledge and experience or from gut feeling or perhaps a combination of both. For example we all know that fruit, vegetables, home cooked food etc. all serve us better than sugary snacks and ready cooked meals, however not everyone actually manages to do that on a regular basis.

Sometimes people use the excuse of lack of time or inconvenient circumstances as reasons to be less attentive about their food choices. A simpler and common reality, though, it that is often a subconscious habit from the past that happens automatically before you know what you are consciously doing and are able to take full responsibility for your actions.

Our subconscious mind is a wonderfull thing and serves us very well in many aspects of our life; for example it regulates our breathing, our blood flow, our autonomic nervous system and it helps you wake you up in the middle of the night when your bladder is full so you can go to the toilet amongst many other valuable functions.

However, there are two main occasions when we do not want to allow our subconscious mind to work automatically. Both of those occasions are around food: when we are choosing or buying food it and when we are consuming it. When we are doing either of those things, it is important to stay consciously alert at all times until we have trance-formed our subconscious thoughts, patterns and behaviours around food, and then we can make the choice that is genuinely right for us and our bodies.

Many people with eating issues often eat as though they are in a trance, and food is consumed without conscious thought and very often neither tasted nor enjoyed. Often shopping or choosing food is made in the same dream-like state. The subconscious mind takes over and old patterns and behaviours dictate your choices before you know what’s happening.

Talk of the subconscious mind brings us to hypnosis. The “Father” of modern hypnosis was a fellow called Milton Erickson, and he often said that his primary goal with hypnosis was to help his clients bring their conscious mind into alignment or rapport with their subconscious mind. When you do that and have them both talking from your same page, then you are empowering your choices and life flows the way you want it to.

Now, one of the many wonderfull things about hypnosis is that it can energize and inspire you to take back control of your less conscious behaviours by creating permanent and positive change in the subconscious. Not only can hypnosis help people like you to make profound and lasting changes in your subconscious mind, where it can be used to install better, more informed habits. It can also help with the commitment that you are able to harness to take control of your eating habits from now on.

When we make choices to change and consume consciously, we give ourselves the chance to energize our physical bodies more effectively and we also send a very strong signal to our subconscious mind that positive changes are here to stay because they work for us. And then we start to form new patterns of subconscious behaviour which is exactly where we need to start making the trance-formation.

Funnily enough though, I have had a couple of people recently who said it did not work for them exactly as they were expecting. One of them said that after repeated listening to the mp3, he actually felt so good about himself that he went out and got himself a new job, and quit the one he hadn’t been enjoying for the last two years. Another lady told me the same story but substituted the word job for partner. Oh, and they both improved their eating habits after they quit the main event!!

And that can happen with empowerment. Whilst the recording does aim to empower you to make better choices around for your shopping and consumption habits around food, and to assist and inspire you to integrate empowered eating choices into your life on a permanent basis, what you might find is that feeling those benefits on a physical, mental, emotional and energetic level might inspire you in a different area of your life instead or as well.
